Jigglypuff
Strategies by Tails 4Ever

She may be light, but Jiggy is a force to be feared in battle. By using Rollout, Pound and the awesome Rest moves, enemies will know they've been spoken to!
Strategies
When using Rest, float above your opponent before dropping onto them. This promises you a better chance of hitting them with full power. In Training, switch the speed down so you can perfect the timing. A failed Rest means Jigglypuff will be open to attack.

Sing is a waste of an attack. It doesn't work on airborne enemies and your foes will wake up within seconds of the attack. It also doesn't help recovering so don't be tempted to use it at all.

Rollout is one of Jigglypuff's most powerful moves. By charging it up until she glows it'll often knock enemies with 100% damage or more flying. If you're opponent moves however, you can quickly change direction to smash them or at least save your puffy pink behind from zooming off the stage.

When recovering, you can combine techniques to discover that Jigglypuff is almost invincible. By using a single float, then pound, then float etc etc. you can travel huge distances. Even if that doesn't work and you're an inch from the stage her airborne dodge (R in mid-air) means you can reach that last length. Don't use it any futher as Jigglypuff won't be able to use any other moves.

As a strange rule in SSBM, the lighter characters can often toss their larger foes like crazy. By tossing them behind herself, Jigglypuff can often throw them off the edge of a stage. It's useful in small arenas, such as Yoshi's Story.

Pound may not be strong but it is stronger then some of Jiggy's smash attacks and is useful when airborne. Using it early in a battle will help you gain some distance from your attackers and rank up some good damage quickly.

Jigglypuff is (along with Kirby) gifted with the awesome ability to float. By smashing a foe clear off the stage and grabbing hold of the edge yourself, your opponent won't be able to pull themselves up when they attempt a recovery. The reason Jigglypuff is the ideal character for this is because of the float ability just mentioned. By using another character it's usually impossible to turn around with a double jump, causing you to have to make a recovery yourself: but Jiggy turns around so it's an easy trick to pull off. It still may require some Training through.

Keep in mind when you play that Jigglypuff doesn't walk. She waddles. She is one of slowest characters in the game, making you an easy target. However her aerial speed and grace is incredibly useful in escaping tight situations or after you've been cornered to a wall. In short: don't walk. Float.
