Hidden Characters
In addition to the 14 original characters who are always available, there are an additional 11 secret characters who are tucked away. You can earn each of these hidden characters by completing certain objectives, or by playing a set number of Melee VS matches.

The 25 total characters offer a wide variety of different strengths, speeds, and attack capabilities.

Jiggly Puff:

Complete either Classic or Adventure in 1 Player Mode.

Or, play a total of 50 Melee VS. matches.

Dr Mario :

Complete either Classic or Adventure using Mario as your character.

Or, play a total of 100 Melee VS. matches.

Pichu:

Complete Event Match 37: Legendary Pokemon

Or, play a total of 200 Melee VS. matches.

Falco:

Complete the Stadium's 100 Man Melee.

Or, play a total of 300 Melee VS. matches.

Marth:

Use each of the original 14 characters in VS mode at least once.

Or, play a total of 400 Melee VS. matches.

Young Link :

Complete Adventure mode with 8 different characters, including Link and Zelda.

Or, play a total of 500 Melee VS. matches.

Ganondorf:

Complete the 1 Player Event Match 29: Triforce Gathering.

Or, play a total of 600 Melee VS. matches.

Mewtwo:

Play a total of 20 hours in Melee VS. Mode.

Or, play a total of 700 Melee VS. matches.

Luigi:

Complete Mushroom Kingdom in Adventure mode, ending the level when the clock's seconds are 2. Example: 3:12.

Or, play a total of 800 Melee VS. matches.

Roy:

Complete 1 Player Classic Mode using Marth, without using a continue.

Or, play a total of 900 Melee VS. matches.

Mr Game & Watch:

Complete either Classic or Adventure mode with all 24 other characters.

Or, play a total of 1000 Melee VS. matches.
