Items and Weapons
Who ever said that you need to fight fair? A large collection of moves, items and weapons can be found during a battle. They literally fall from the sky and can also be found inside crates, barrels, and capsules. It's often the use of these items that makes the difference between a win and a loss.
Beam Sword
The force will be with those who pick up this SSBM weapon. Your opponents will be left thinking that they were attacked by Jedi knights.
Ray Gun
Open fire on your opponents with this handy weapon. Once the laser shots run out, throw the gun at them.
Bob-omb
Pick these little guys up, and hurl them at other players. They're a blast.
Bunny Hood
In SSBM game if you pick up the Bunny Hood, your character will be able to move considerably faster than usual. In addition to the speed boost, you'll also be able to jump higher.
Cloaking Device
The perfect weapon for stealthy players. While using the Cloaking Device, you'll be invisible to all players, including yourself.
Fire Flower
This small plant can engulf an opponent in flames. Talk about flower power.
Flipper
These SSBM items are most effective when placed near the edges of an arena. After hitting a flipper, a player is bounced off and sent flying in the air.
Freezie
The chilling force of this weapon will stop your opponents in their tracks. It's hard to fight back when you're encased in a block of ice.
Green Shell
Those green shells aren't just used for disposing of Goombas. Hurling a green shell at an opponent to send them off balance is a good move before you attack.
Hammer
A blast from the past. Anyone wielding the giant hammer is a dangerous threat. If you hit another player while carrying it, expect them to go flying out of your way.
Home Run Bat
Since there aren't any baseballs in this game, your opponents are the next best thing. Take a step up to the plate and knock them out of the park.
Lip's Stick
This seemingly harmless weapon can cause serious damage. Hit opponents with it, and use a smash attack for maximum impact. It's also effective when thrown.
Metal Box
As a "metal head," you'll be much harder to knock around. The weight from the metal cap keeps you steady on your feet.
Mr. Saturn
Pick this little guy up and throw him at other players. After hitting an opponent, try to catch the rebound and throw him again.
Motion Sensor Mine
You don't need to be James Bond to use explosives. Plant these mines anywhere in the arena for an explosive surprise.
Super Mushroom
Like in Super Mario Bros., this SSBM magical item supersizes your character. When under its effect, you'll be as big as Bowser.
Fan
This weapon may look weak, but causes damage when thrown at opponents.
Parasol
A whack from an umbrella stings, and it doubles as a parachute for airborne players.
Party Ball
Filled with party favors, this SSBM game item cracks open to release more items when thrown.
Poison Mushroom
This bad mushroom does the opposite of a Super Mushroom. If you touch one, you'll shrink and become more vulnerable.
Pokeball
Each Pokeball contains a random Pokémon that becomes a temporary hazard in the arena.
Red Shell
Once thrown, it bounces back and forth on the platform. Watch out—it changes direction to collide with anyone in its path.
Screw Attack
With this item, every jump becomes a spin attack, just like Samus Aran.
Starman
Dating back to Mario's early days, the Starman grants invincibility for a short time. Use your temporary immortality wisely.
Star Rod
Use it to bash opponents up close, or launch a distant flash of star power at them.
Super Scope
This SNES classic has two firing modes: rapid shots by tapping A, or a powerful blast by holding A.
Warp Star
When picked up, this item lifts you into the sky, then slams you down, sending opponents flying on impact.
Barrel Cannon
Throwing this into action traps players inside. Press 'A' to fire, but beware—it's tricky to aim the barrel safely.
Maxim Tomato
This item lowers your damage meter by 50.
Food
Replenish some health by grabbing tasty food items.
Heart Container
If your damage is high, the Heart Container heals cuts and bruises, restoring 100% of your damage meter.
